letter to baby #2

Last night I found out I am having a daughter.  I have to tell you little one, I could barely sleep all night in excitement of you..  when I dreamed, I dreamed of you!  It's amazing and such a blessing from God that you will be here soon in 20 more weeks, my sweet little daughter.  I'm so excited for you, to dress you up, to teach you everything there is about being a girl.. from tutus to climbing trees.. and boys and putting on make-up, to become a young woman yourself someday.  You are beautiful, I know this already, I'm so grateful that God has given us you for our little daughter.

15-19 Weeks!

So much to say.  First of all, I apologize again for not updating this weekly, it’s been very busy around these parts.   I’m enjoying soft little kicks now, this baby is super active.   I really started to feel the kicks (not just those light flutters!) during our annual trip to moon lake for the Snyder Reunion.  Speaking of the reunion, I’ll to upload pictures as soon as I locate my camera.  Needless to say, I’m still unpacking from all of our trips this past summer.

I’m still having cravings, which is driving Andy crazy.  It’s tough, when I get an idea of what to eat in my head, nothing else sounds good.   Right now, it’s a lot of bad stuff too, like chocolate, candy, and those little pizza rolls things.   Mmmm.   I’ll have to be careful though.  I remember I was almost diagnosed with gestational diabetes with Braedan (had to do the complicated glucose test with multiple blood draws.. not fun).

At least the nausea is over with, mostly.   Every once in a while there is a flare up.  Right now it’s the migraines.  I had one over labor day weekend that lasted three days straight.   Tylenol helped a little bit, not much.   I’m really careful about medications, I want this pregnancy (and birth) to be as drug free as possible.

Well I’m happy to announce we had our big ultrasound yesterday!  It was funny, they wanted me to drink 44 ounces of something before I come in, and they said no tea, no milk, no coffee, and no energy drinks.   So it’s juice or water, and I thought juice would be easier to get down.. oh no.   I made some grape juice, and within 15-20 minutes got it all down.  Let me just say I really don’t recommend this to preggo ladies.  Ugh.. I can’t stand grape juice now.  My husband was taking all the back roads in Provo to get to the ultrasound place, and every time he stopped at a stop sign, I felt it come up.  It was awful!!  Then at the ultrasound place, there was kind of a wait.   I was in a room with two other moms who were doing the same exact thing.  We were hopping around, crossing our legs, trying to look like we had everything in control.   Then all three of us decided we couldn’t wait any longer and made a mad dash to the bathroom, it was quite funny.

My baby is beautiful! It was so exciting to finally see this little one that has been growing inside me.   Everything looked perfect, the heart, the brain, the kidneys, the little spine.. beautiful!   I’m so excited to meet this little baby in a few more months!   We got some good footage, we even got the cutest little foot shot.

The ultrasound appointment went too fast, I could spend an hour in there!  Maybe I could convince my husband to get 3d photography when I’m around 35 weeks.. haha.. we’ll see.    I still need to hire a doula (I found a group that I really want to use, primarily since one of the gals was my hypnobirthing teacher for Braedan).

I’m very much looking forward to the holidays, Halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years.  If I keep distracted with those, time will just fly! J  I’m halfway there.. it’s awesome! J
